RFHS was formed to bring together the Family History Community in Rotherham and the surrounding area and offers a forum and marketplace, which gives its members the opportunity to meet other like minded people in a friendly atmosphere conducive to the futherment of their Geneological interests.  The Society Membership Year is 1st January to 31st December.

Subscriptions are due at the end of December regardless of the month in which you joined the Society.  However, anyone who joins the Society between the 1st September and the 31st December will have their membership extended, in their first year of Membership, to the end of December of the following year.  That is, if you join on or after the 1st September 2007 your membership will not be due for renewal until 31st December 2008.

DON'T FORGET GIFT AID! - CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE

As a Registered Charity the Society is able to claim tax back at the standard rate of Income Tax, on the Donations you make to the Society (including Membership Subscriptions).  For us to do this you must make and sign a declaration giving your permission for us to make the claim from HM Revenue and Customs.  However, you must be a UK taxpayer to be able to Gift Aid your donations.  You must be paying at least the equivalent amount of either Income or Capital Gains Tax.

This probably all sounds very complicated, but the only thing you have to do is to establish that you pay one or the other of the taxes mentioned above and then sign the Gift Aid Donation Declaration on the Membership Form - and thats all there is to it!

DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998

As a Member of the Society your name, address and other details you provide us with during the course of your membership will be stored on computer to enable us to compile mailing lists and to offer you the best membership experience we can.  Any Member not wishing to have their name, address or other details held in this way should inform the membership secretary in writing at the time of applying for Membership.
